An intensive program running Monday through Thursday, July 13–31, with a structured daily schedule of lectures, workshops, and cultural activities.

Comparative Law

Explore the differences between US and French legal systems, civil procedure, and criminal cases through a rigorous comparative lens.

Paris Excursions

Visit the Assemblée Nationale, the Palais de Justice, the Panthéon, and more. Experience French legal institutions firsthand.

Academic Credit

Earn academic credit with ILS Paris, an official Certificate of Completion, and a Letter of Completion upon finishing the program.

Daily Schedule

Classes meet Monday through Thursday. Fridays are free for independent study, exploration, or optional group activities.

9:30 – 11:00 AM Session 1 — Morning lecture

2:00 – 3:30 PM Session 3 — Afternoon lecture or case study

Courses

US vs French Legal Systems

A foundational comparative study of common law and civil law traditions, examining constitutional frameworks, sources of law, and judicial structures in both countries.

US vs French Civil Procedure

Compare litigation processes, discovery rules, trial procedures, and appeals in the American and French systems. Understand how procedural differences shape legal outcomes.

Advocacy & Mock Trial

Develop persuasive oral and written advocacy skills through practical exercises, culminating in a mock trial applying comparative legal principles.

International Relations & Affairs

Examine the legal dimensions of international relations, treaties, diplomatic law, and the role of international organizations in contemporary global affairs.

US & French Key Criminal Cases

Study landmark criminal cases from both jurisdictions. Analyze how substantive criminal law, procedure, and sentencing differ across the Atlantic.

AI & Digital Law or Comparative Contract Law

Choose between a cutting-edge exploration of US and European approaches to AI regulation and data protection, or a deep dive into comparative contract law principles.

Language Classes Included

French classes are offered to English-speaking students, and English classes to French-speaking participants. All academic courses are taught in English.

Upon Completion

Academic Credit

Earn academic credit recognized by ILS Paris, transferable to your home institution upon verification of equivalency.

Certificate of Completion

Receive an official certificate from the International Law School Paris, attesting to your participation and achievement.

Letter of Completion

Excursions & Cultural Program

Step outside the classroom and experience French legal history and culture firsthand. Excursions are scheduled in the late afternoon or evening throughout the program.

€1,000 refundable deposit required
All registrations require a €1,000 deposit to secure your place in the program.
Full deposit refund before June 1
Cancel at any time before June 1, 2026, and receive a complete refund of your €1,000 deposit.
Partial refund after June 1
Cancellations after June 1, 2026: €500 of your deposit is refundable.
Tuition balance
The remaining tuition balance (after deposit) is due before the program start date of July 13, 2026.
